I was recently in Japan for business and I had about a day and a half of free time, so I asked Fujifilm to borrow their new medium format camera, the GFX50R.
I have been shooting with the GFX50S for about 18 months as my main camera system. The look and feel of that camera was definitely a bit of a departure from the typical Fuji retro-style. It’s not the prettiest camera in the world but the ergonomics are great and I fell in love with the files. Enter the GFX50R and we now have a very cool looking rangefinder-style version of the 50S. I love the design, so I was very curious to see how it handled in a real life reportage situation.
